Behaviour, Diet and Habits:

Bees may be solitary or may live in various types of communities. The most advanced of these are found among the honey bees, bumblebees, and stingless bees; these are characterised by having a hive which can number in the thousands. Bees eat nectar and pollen from flowers. Bee Larvae eat honey while Queen bees eat royal jelly. Bees continually search for food sources which are returned to the hive for the colony to use.

Bee problems:

Although bees are very beneficial to humans they can cause some problems if swarming, or if they build a hive on your property. Bees will only sting humans in self-defense, and rarely do bees cause serious harm to humans. Bees hives also have the potential to damage property if left in checked.

Minimizing Bee Problems:

To minimize bees building a hive on your property, be sure to properly seal off entry ways into your dwelling, including windows, doors and any other openings.
